Real Estate Agents FAQ
Real Estate Frequently Asked Questions
What is a real estate agent?
A real estate agent is a Provincially licensed professional that has taken and past all the necessary real estate courses to become a real estate agent.
If you decide to employ someone to help you sell your home, that person becomes your real estate agent for the duration of the sale of your home. Their sole interest as being your real estate agent is keeping the sellers best interest at heart and getting them the best possible price for their real estate property. This type of agent is referred to as a real estate sellers agent or simply your real estate agent.
The home buyer can also use a real estate agent, that agent would be their real estate buyers agent. The whole focus of the real estate buyers agent, is to help the home buyer get the lowest possible price and keep the home buyer satisfied. More on Buyers Agents here.
A Realtor or Real Estate Broker is also a licensed real estate agent, except a real-estate broker has an office and real estate agents working for him.
